KORG iKaossilator App Reviews

The included sounds are varied enough to give you a wide sonic palette and a couple of patches actually contain multiple sounds. You can absolutely create full compositions with this. Great app, puts you in a musical flow and keeps you there. If you like to jam to come up with ideas, this is it. It gets 4 stars because Korg have done very little to offer more sound packs. Whats up with "additional libraries" Korg? Theres only one lol. Needs more sounds and the ability to import your own, but you can still get quite far with this.

I really hope KORG gives this great app more attention. Maybe add it to gadget?!

This app has great sounds and a fairly intuitive, user friendly interface. Id like to use it for live performances but cant seem to be able to consistently hit on a specific pitch when Id like to. Maybe if this app had the ability to overlay some type of visible grid, it would be easier to consistently hit on a specific note or pitch. I cant use this app in live performance in its current incarnation because it is just to random for me when trying to nail down a consistent, repeatable rhythm line and then overlay a melody. If that were possible, this app would be a TEN STAR app. If you are just into random sounds, this app is great. Another neat addition would be the ability to record live samples and manipulate those with the screen interface. I realize that would likely be a higher cost app, but the world is ready for it and NOBODY ELSE has an interface like this. Keep going, youre nearly there.

iOS is a natural evolutionary step for the Kaossilator.

I love this app. I treat it like an instrument. I love that I can export the loops as audio for use in my DAW. I take them and treat them as samples in maschine, or loops in ableton live, and play with them and mangle them more. Ive definitely come up with the beginnings of some killer tracks (in my opinion) with this app. Its fun, intuitive, and the sounds are pretty great! I would love to see more sound packs in the future. I also think it would be AWESOME if it could export to midi, midi control other sounds (like plug ins from my DAW). Perhaps a full blown plug-in for my DAW eventually? It would be great to have some further tweak-ability options for the sounds, or use the generated midi to apply to other instruments.

Ive had this app since the iPhone 4 days and its always been a lot of fun. Ive made some great loops but recently on the iPhone 6/s the app cant handle too much tapping and crashes after minutes of using. I still believe in the kaosilator but maybe its time to buy the actual machine and ditch the iPhone app.

I love this app! Especially its ability to collaborate! Ive even used it with a live band setup!

Works well especially since Link compatible, please some updates and new sounds, I have most of Korgs pads love them. Thank you KORG and Apple are good together!

We love "dropping beats"

My only complaint is that its a pain to export/upload so you can let friends hear your new set

Easy synth !!!!!

I got this app when it first came out and STILL use it. Since then I purchased the hardware version as well as a kp3. This app plugs into those and is extremely useful. Its extremely fun and worth every penny.

Making beats is so fun and easy with this app it feels like cheating! If you want to make serious original music that you can really feel is all your own and put on your album, Nano Studio or one of the many other great iOS music apps might be a better choice. But if you just wanna jam out and have a blast, or if you wanna introduce music making to your kids or someone with no musical experience, this is the clear winner. Its very visually appealing, and you can actually make some sweet tunes. The ability to convert to an Ableton project and refine on a computer adds a serious element for people who wanna go further. Korg has a winner with this one, Im excited to see how it grows and develops in the future.

You will be making beats like a pro in minutes. Very simple to learn . Sounds amazing through a good system very crisp on the hi tones and the bass will knock your socks off ;) If you have a love for music You will love this app

I give 4* for fun. The app could use some customizable perimeters, like delay, phaser, and chorus. The drum beats are really cool, however, a bit limited in terms of making the beats your own creation. Overall a very cool app. Thank you Korg.

I play piano/synth in my band, Blue Vino, & was looking for an instrument that was a bit outside the box. I was very much on the fence when I was contemplating purchasing a Kaossilator KO1 or the iKaossilator app. I couldnt find a Kaossilator for less than about $75. When I found this app & convinced myself to just get it, I found myself overjoyed at its capabilities. From reviews Ive read about the Kaossilator KO1, it sounds like you get at least a comparable instrument in the iKaossilator, if not an ALL OUT BETTER ONE! My band plays all sorts of genres & this app helps with any prog, experimental, industrial, electronic, and any other genres you feel could use a boundary check. For an instrument (which this definitely qualifies as) thats less than a tank of gas, you owe it to yourself to just give it a shot.

Was so disappointed how long it took Korg to get most of their rather expensive apps compatible with iOS8 that I deleted them all. I miss them because they are quality when they work. Trying again.

if you like to make beats..the is nothing more fun then this..nothing uses more your vibe then this.
