Worth it

Perfect for everything from getting an idea out of your head to taking up time during travel. You cant Not make music with this app.

One or two features away from perfect

More expansions. Allow user to set FX zones for imported samples. I would like little grid lines or something that could be toggled on and off to really hit notes accurately. An FX layer mode that allows user to apply filter sweeps etc without altering the notes. One or two more tracks. Love all Korg apps.

So much fun

Love this app, awesome intuitive way to make music whenever and wherever

Love it!

Worth the money!

Korg

One of the best apps made. Well worth the price and then some

Ikaosilator

Is the s#][+

Best music app!

I truly love this app its so easy to learn and I seamless and fluent but I wish there was a way to distort all the sounds like in the app Figure but oh well I still manage to play with it

Its a toy, not an instrument

The level of control isnt there for creative musical composition. Its just a soundboard of prerecorded tracks that you can mash-up. I was hoping for something that allowed much more control so that maybe something creative could actually be made. Wish I hadnt paid $10 for this.

Its a toy

Weak stuff for anyone that has real recording experience.

Fantastic

This is an app that can tap into what little musical ability a person has and create something that sounds wonderful.

Great app

Hope there is more banks on the way and ability to control volume on each instrument

Kool iKaos

A very capable music app for creating loop-based grooves from preset patterns and imported loops. Different scales and keys can be selected, and you can record your own loop patterns. The X-Y touchpad is excellent; my only wish is that Korg would add an option to display a grid reflecting the current scale, which would make it easier to target specific notes of the scale when making patterns. Current solutions to the lack of a note grid make use of colored painters tape on the screen. Finally, the app can be used for live performance, switching loops and recording on the fly. It would be nice to have a better in-app manual. Nevertheless, kudos to Korg!

Amazing, could be better...

This app is highly intuitive, it offers the chance to produce and mix on the go. The only extra I would add and think its missing is the ability to control volume for each instrument; this would make it possible to mastering live without leaving the app, and make it easily the best and most intuitive music app on the market.

Amazing!

I had the original kaossilator and this blows it out of the water. So much more you can do with it. Download new samples, export to abelton, live recording.

Absolutely Addicted to this app

Ive been a big fan of Korg for many years. I own a few other Korg products. A friend recommended me the app years ago. Not too long ago is when I decided to buy it. Its honestly such a vital tool for me when I compose my music. The sounds are clean and the drum patterns all seem to sound very professional and not outdated. If you call yourself a music lover than please get this app.

Hours and Hours

Need a new EDM!!! Dont listen to the ingrates that dont want to pay for them. More manual drums and effects! This is hands down my favorite music making app on a mobile, and I have tried a lot of them. Its so much fun creating and endlessly tweaking sets to perform live or in the studio. Sometimes the app glitches when transitioning multiple loops at once; to minimize this I make sure all other apps are closed. Please add the following to make this app perfect (IMHO): the ability to independently control the volume on each instrument, a midi screen to tweak individual loops that have been created, add filters for instrument sets. A huge thank you to the developers. Cant wait for some more sound packs. Check out my songs on Soundcloud: ArtIsInformation

COLOSSAL WASTE OF MONEY

This is NOT an instrument. This is a joke. Highway robbery for $20. And not for someone looking for an interesting app to help push their creative limits. Im honestly appalled with korg. Any investment in the development of this app was spent on having pretty lights in the background, while the capabilities of what one can do are beyond limited. Ill wrap this up quickly. Pros: Great sound bank. And that is it. Cons: No volume control.(who wants a dynamic mix anyway) No polyphonic capabilities.(cuz why on earth would any musician ever want to be able to play chords of their choosing??) No envelope options, thus no ability to control the attack, decay, release, etc. And perhaps worst of all no user guide whatsoever. Just the absolute laziest attempt at a quick start guide Ive ever seen. LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF APPS UNDER 5 PROVIDE AN UNOBJECTIVELY BETTER PRODUCT. I will never buy korg again

Pretty cool w/small drawback

Awesome app. Has more functionality than actual kaossilators. I like having 5 record banks but you cannot overdub on each of them. They just record the events that you do on the pad (like moving your finger across m, etc). Each bank can have a sound and changing the sound will actually change the recording, which felt weird at first but after playing it a bit it became natural since there are many banks. Im not sure if there is an arpeggiator in this thing. The only problem I have with the app is that I cannot share to other apps (say WhatsApp). You can only share to dropbox, soundcloud, audiocopy (needs to be accessed on computer through itunes), and listing. If it could share to other apps the straight .wav it would be cool.

Fun

Super fun and easy to use. Enjoy it a lot. Easy to lose a ton of time just messing around with beats, sounds, and different combinations of patterns.

Better than the real thing

I had the actual kaossilator for about 6 months (lost it). I really prefer this one. Much easier to navigate. I got it half price. I probably would not have paid full price (though much cheaper than the real McCoy). This is really a toy. In the hands of a real musician, I am sure it would be great. I feel like Sufjan Stevens was using something like this on Age of Adz. I do wish they had volume controls on each channel. I have plugged in into an amp and tried to be cool.
